NAVE biography
Progressive Music , sub-genre: Art Rock
Country: Brazil
NAVE is a Brazilian symphonic group that was founded in 1993. Very little is known of this group. The line-up consists of Roger Troyjo (vocals), Marcos Vita (keyboards & vocals), Estevao Kalaany (acoustic & electric guitars, viola caipira & zamr mujwiz), Benigno Jr. (bass) and Ricardo deAlcantara (drums & percussion). The only album was released in 1997. It’s a symphonic progressive work with influences from world music and progressive metal. The Brazilian background can be heard in some tracks but overall the sound of the group is rather universal. The vocals, that are somewhat reminiscent of Jon Anderson, are in English and delivered convincingly. This is a varied and mature album.
The music of NAVE probably mostly pleases fans of symphonic progressive that don’t mind influences from a few other genres thrown in as well.
