An incredible treasure from the late 60s underground -- the one and only album from the Jelly Bean Bandits, a group who really should have been huge! These guys are hardly the sweeter pop act you might expect from their name -- and instead, they've got a rock-solid sound that's very heavy on the drums -- then followed up by some very sinister organ and guitar! Lead vocals from Billy Donald are really great -- with a nicely dark undercurrent that stands with the bigger names of his generation, but which never falls into any sort of overindulgence. Most tunes are somewhat short, but pack plenty of power from the bottom on up -- and titles include Happiness Girl, Country Woman, Poor Precious Dreams, September Rain, Goodtime Feeling, Tapestries, and Say Mann.
