Pinoy is a synonym used by Filipinos for their compatriots in the Philippines and around the world. In the first seventies the Philippines had a surprisingly good rock scene, also known as (classic) Pinoy-Rock. Bands as Juan de la Cruz, Anak Bayan, Mike Hanopol and many others where heavily influenced by growing progrock scene from abroad but created something truly unique. Any adventurous listener that approached this genre was surprised by the inspired, fresh sounds of these records, and if you do not already know Pinoy rock, this is your record!
