After the Doobies initially broke up in '83, Simmons soon released Arcade which reached #52 on the Billboard Pop Album charts and spun a Top 40 single with the peppy So Wrong.

Arcade contains 10 songs on which six Simmons wrote or co-wrote. He has incorporated both the Tom Johnston-era as well as the Michael McDonald-era Doobie Brothers style-sound nicely throughout with guests on various tracks that include his 'Brothers', Tom Johnston, John McFee, Willie Weeks, Bobby LaKind, Jeff Skunk Baxter, Cornelius Bumpus and Michael McDonald. Even co-producer of the album, Ted Templeton, plays clavinet on If You Want A Little Love. The Tower Of Power Horns are included on the Huey Lewis & The News penned Don't Make Me Do It as well as If You Want A Little Love, Sue Sad and the wonderful rendition of the Chi-Lites hit, Have You Seen Her. Singer Chris Thompson is also outstanding throughout with his lead and backing vocals.

Arcade was never a huge commercial success but to Doobie fans who love Patrick Simmons style and energy, it is a must have.
